At Third House, we once had a monthly event called Borrowed Mic - like open mic, but you read someone else's work, hosted by Gainesville's favorite MC, Mandisa.
We are bringing that back for just one night with a special theme, and a special host - Gainesville's very own Dr. Paul Ortiz.
Join us for a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with poetry and fiction available from authors of each hispanic country to be read, discussed, cried about, etc. If you have a favorite author from a hispanic country, please feel free to read a poem or passage, and in Spanish language is encouraged if you feel comfortable!
On this night, we encourage you to purchase books by Latinx authors you may have never heard of until this event, but have nonetheless been inspired by.
