Join us in our third annual celebration of Independent Bookstore Day on April 27th. There will be readings by local favorites: Kristen Stone, Pulitzer Prize winner of history Jack E. Davis, and Eisner-nominated cartoonist Tom Hart in addition to a DJ and a storewide sale.
Kristen Stone, author of the gorgeous debut novel _That Which Girls Conjure Will Help Them Survive_ is a writer, educator, and social worker living in Gainesville, Florida. They are the author of Domestication Handbook (Rogue Factorial, 2012) and self/help/work/book//The Story of Ruth and Eliza (Birds of Lace, 2014). Their poetry and essays appear at Mutha Magazine, Entropy, and elsewhere. They will be reading at 1pm.
Pulitzer Prize winner, and Gainesville local Jack E. Davis will be in the store to talk about his stunning history, _The Gulf_ at 3pm. Jack has been a huge supporter of Third House Books, and we are excited to welcome him back for what is always an incredible, thought provoking reading.
Tom Hart, critically acclaimed Eisner-nominated cartoonist and the Executive Director of SAW in Gainesville, will be reading some of his work at 5pm alongside a projector. Hart is the creator of Daddy Lightning, and the Hutch Owen series of graphic novels and books. His series was nominated for best graphic novel in 2000.
