PINEY WOOD ATLAS is a collaboration between Alicia Toldi and Carolina Porras. We are two artists visiting and cataloguing small and emerging artist residencies across the country. Our project is an ongoing process that will continually contribute to a multimedia tour log of our travels and findings, and help connect the dots between artists and artist residencies.

ALICIA grew up exploring the wilds of California, from her lush backyard to Big Sur and the Sierras. Higher education brought her to the East Coast and Paris, where she studied Art and Anthropology. While living in Brooklyn, her heart brought her back to California, where she is on a constant quest to make a life out of adventuring and working with her hands. Her art work investigates the natural world and how humans use it to make sense of intangible concepts such as time and memory. Her work can be viewed at aliciatoldi.com

CAROLINA is an illustrator and maker of things. She spent the past three years exploring and living in San Francisco after transplanting post-college from her home state, Florida. In California she was able to expand her illustration skills, making work for several bands, online articles and various SF based companies. Recently she has migrated back to Florida where she draws a lot of inspiration for her personal work. Nestled between swamps, overhanging spanish moss and enduring relentless humidity Carolina is focusing on new projects including murals, comics and crocheting elaborate patterns.
