This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the publication of S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders! It feels like the perfect way to kick off our Better Than Book Club.

This now classic Y.A. novel exposes the darker side of growing up. Wrestling with identity, expectations, acceptance and mortality, these teens remind us that high school isn't just about homecoming and homework.
